A complete house renovation with two sizable extensions: at the side is a two-storey build that adds two bedrooms, and at the rear, a significant single-storey extension that houses a new kitchen/dining/living area.
While some of the external landscaping work isn't quite finished, we didn't want to miss the autumnal colours with winter fast approaching. So, we recently arranged access for Christopher and Alan to do a quick photoshoot of the project. We had to wait several days for a gap in the weather, but it was well worth it.
As the architects, we feel the photographs capture the project's essence: a contemporary family home inspired by a classic of modern design, the 1950s pavilion house.

The Pavilion is just a few minutes from the centre of Dore Village, in the leafy west side of Sheffield. The original white-rendered detached property is typical of the area, 'nice' in its own right. But, it didn't meet the needs of our clients - As local architects, they wanted our help to rationalise and modernise the property to reflect their lifestyle better.
We worked closely with our clients as part of our tried and tested architectural design process. We helped them identify and prioritised their needs and resolved the critical areas of the existing building to be refurbished and where we could successfully integrate the new extensions.
We took the scheme from concept to completion, with the client choosing to appoint us for our full architectural service. Part of this full service is us fulfilling the Contract Administrator role on the build. The full architectural service provided the reassurance of one (or more of our team) in this case Christopher and Taylor, being on site regularly to independently assess the building work and guide the clients throughout the project's construction.
