Brightman Clarke Architects were appointed by a local couple to help develop this wonderful plot of land near Hardwick Hall, Chesterfield
Site Assessment
The sloping site is close to open countryside and was designed to maximise views over the nearby fields. Brightman Clarke Architects designed a series of individual bespoke houses in Chesterfield.
Design Process
The three properties were designed using an agricultural approach to reference buildings seen in the local area. Dark timber cladding is used at high level to enable the properties to blend into the background when viewed from a distance, minimising the impact on the surrounding area.
The internal layouts were designed specifically for this site, organising and prioritising the internal spaces to benefit from the aspect over the adjacent fields.
Each property is unique, but uses the same architectural style and materials to link them together to create a very successful, small housing development.
